The anti-vaxers are having an impact on America’s health going far beyond the gratuitous illness and deaths amongst the unvaccininated from COVID. Victorian infectious diseases that used to carry away so many people and especially children such as whooping cough, diphtheria and measles have returned. Scourges that public schools had eliminated by requiring vaccinations for admission gave us half a century where there was not a single case but as vaccination frequency drops these once vanquished diseases are back. Will we soon be seeing smallpox again?
