In order to (kind of) afford his military buildup, Donald Trump proposes gutting the EPA and abolishing funding for public radio and television. Makes perfect sense. Too many of America’s cities are enjoying ever cleaner air and water . Where will this end?! It’s got to stop!
As for public television and radio, Americans are already becoming too well informed and cultured. We need more uninformed and misinformed philistines – much like the president himself.
As to the military buildup, those billions will go to ever bigger tanks and battle-ships and the like so that Mr. Trump can re-fight World War II. Unfortunately all that hardware is useless in the wars of today, fought by small units street by street, door to door, by drones manipulated by men over a thousand miles away, and by getting better intelligence on our enemies than they have on us.
How much better off this country was when Trump busied himself hunting for Obama’s African birth certificate or for the microphones Obama had planted in his bedroom. One can only hope that he finds some new windmills against which he can tilt his lance before he does the country any more serious damage.
